The founder of Helen Julia, Tamiko Helen Hargrove, had a vision and a goal.

The name Helen Julia was inspired by my grandmothers, Helen Hargrove and Julia Annette Calderon.

While growing up in a household full of inspiration, my mother remained the fashion icon in my eyes with her stylish pumps, sleek hats and flawless makeup. During my adult years, I have discovered that the true fashion icon was really my Grandmother, Julia Annette Calderon. Talk about a woman with style! I can still walk into her closet today and pull out a suit, hat and an accessory, The Brooch, wear them proudly and look fabulous doing so.

Home is where I developed my creativity and flare for craft and fashion. It has always been a passion of mine to make people feel good and look good, whether by demonstrating a great sense of style or motivational speaking.

My goal is to have my clientele feel good when visiting my online boutique and purchasing my products. I have been in Corporate America for many years. I understand the stress, overworked and burnout feeling. My own personal experience has led me to create a line that can spiritually take you away from the hectic world. If you cannot physically get to a spa, you can at least feel the spa treatment of relaxation at home when you burn one of my hand-poured scented soy candles. Lighting my candles will dramatically improve your mood.

Helen Julia's aromatic candle scents are based on simple accords of fragrance notes. Each candle inspires distinct moods, rich in meaning and memories. These candles include: "I Do", Prima Donna, Pearl Drop, Pink Diamond, Powder Puff, Terrycloth Robe, Sexy Suede and Soft Mink.

All of Helen Julia fragranced candles are available in two sizes along with their individual velvet pouch, Helen Julia's largest glass filled aromatic candles, which burn for 60 hours and have a suggested retail price of $38 (10.5 oz.); Helen Julia's individual travel size candles, which burn for 20 hours, have a suggested retail price of $16 (3 oz.).
